I wouldn't go that far. There are always options, and while I'm not
sure what we, USA Games, will be doing as far as a stereo pan control
goes we aren't without options.
For starts most of the commercial audio libraries like FMOD, Irrklang,
and Bass all have 2d stereo panning. It might
then sadly for us, unless another idea can come up we may have to
scrap panning alltogether maybe it will be the end of the 2d
sidescroler which sucks but hmmm.

Unicode support. That means if it runs on a computer using a foreign

That is the point exactly. All of the .Net languages have form designer
wizards like Visual Basic where you point to a place on your form and
drop a button, listbox, etc and then set properties to configure it.

Double that. To buy the engine outright with unrestricted use David is
asking for $2000 for the engine. Though, as I mentioned in other
messages he does offer other payment plans.
Either way it is pretty expensive. I'm working on my own engine, but I
am not sure when it will be ready f

Yes, using something like the GMA Engine would certainly simplify the
amount of work you have to do. The core features you need such as
DirectX are built in to the Engine. However, the GMA Engine does not
come cheaply.
You can buy a trial version of the engine to demo for $50.00 USD.
