I now see that what I'm requesting in "tl;dnr" below isn't supported.
Instead,
I'm going to document my own hatred for Wayland here, not that it will
make any difference to its unstoppable adoption and the subsequent
likely demise of FVWM. Note that I'm not an expert on the subject(s) nor
do I have the time or inclination to become one as I'm 100% convinced
