device has changed its mode to touchscreen, to change the layout accordingly (bigger buttons, maybe less decoration, etc). I'm thinking of tablet laptops here; they are getting more and more popular, and when the interface is implemented correctly, it really comes handy. -- Julien Guertault

couple of times that sometimes, when I maximize it manually before it is done initializing, it would get back to a window size (without letting the window manager know: it will still be considered maximized). Note that I'm not talking about fvwm here: I had this behaviour on Windows I think, maybe Mac OS too. So perhaps the issue you are facing is somewhat related? -- Julien Guertault
