Just to clarify, would it be alright to mix versions 4.0.4 and 4.0.5, since we
already ran several subjects using 4.0.4? Is 4.0.5 just a new feature release
for post-processing, or were any changes made to the processing pipeline?

Yes, you can mix v4.0.4 and v4.0.5. In general, we recommend always
using the same version, but in this case, only features were added to
v4.0.5. The thing to do is consult this page:
