Mike,
mri_info will dump most of the header info in an mgz volume. Adding the
-autoalign flag to mri_info will show the autoalign matrix (if it
exists) stored after the image data. The command history (provenance)
info stored after the image data is not accessible by mri_info, but will
be in v4.
