Sounds like a virtualbox problem. Try reinstalling Virtualbox.. Try adding a
bit more video memory to the vm.

Please help with the following problem: I am trying to run the FreeSurfer disk
image on Virtual Box 4.1.6. I start it, I get: "GRUB loading please wait..."
and then the Virtual Box crashes.
It has 2048 MB base memory, 12 MB video memory.
