Uri: I believe all applications are installed on the compute-nodes via
some rollout script at this datacenter. I try not to get into arguments
with the IT people on how to configure the computers, but I am sure it is
possible to do a central install. It sure would save some space
can you send us a list of the files in $FREESUFER_HOME/average? There are
a couple of big ones in there that you can probably do without
