In the native space analysis the data get smoothed in the 3d volume and then projecting to the surface. This is very different from a surface-based analysis where you project to the surface and then smooth in 2D. For one thing, 5mm FWHM in one analysis is not the same as 5mm FWHM in the other.

there are a couple of things you can do. If you want to analyze them as completely separate tasks, then I would probably create a different bold folder for each, eg, bold-dot/001 and bold-number/002. If you want to compare the two runs in some way, then you should create new parfiles that have

Hi Doug., Thanks for your help. We are getting a more specific error. Now it seems like it's trying to open a nonexistent file. In our FsFast directory, we structured it such that under bold, there are subdirectories 001 and 002 where 001 and 002 are different tasks/par files (eg Comparison_dot.pa

I have not seen this before. You can try running selxavg3-sess with -monly sxa3.m. This will complete immediately, creating sxa3.m. Then start matlab and run sxa3 and see if you get the same error. If it hangs, hit control-c to get back to a prompt. When you do this I think it should tell you

Hi, Our lab has been trying to set up Fsfast and we've encountered a problem when we are trying to run the first level analysis during selxavg3-sess. selxavg3-sess starts running but then it hangs after the program crashes after it prompts us to remove a temp file. It seems like the program just s

Hi Emily, I think the parametric modulation should work. In the example, there is a ShockOffset and ShockSlope as conditions 1 and 2. In your case, you would have 4 conditions. 1. IndoorsOffset 2. Indoors-OpennessSlope 3. OutdoorsOffset 4. Outdoors-OpennessSlope You would then create a contrast o

How does one execute a first-level (subject-level) analysis with a continuous covariate? For example, in an event-related experiment presenting pictures of scenes, I have two conditions: environment (indoors/outdoors) and openness (a continuous rating obtained independently). I am interested in th
