Sorry for the late response and thank you. It was related to the
orientation. of those images.
Thank you,

This usually means that the registration failed. Have you looked at
the image to make sure that there are no obvious problems? Is the voxel
size about 1mm? Is it T1 weighted?

Dear FreeSurfer experts, I am having some trouble to understand this error
that showed up in some subjects that my group is processing. The recon-all
log shows that message: *ERROR: mpr2mni305 failed, see
transforms/talairach_avi.log * All talairach_avi
Hello Dear Sir/Madam,
Please provide your expert suggestions to resolve the above-mentioned error.
Thank you very much,
Best regards

Hi there
I running freesurfer-Darwin-lion-stable-pub-v5.3.0 on a Mac 10.10.5. I have run
recon-all successfully in the past, but now I am getting an error of mpr2mni305
failed, see transforms/talairach_avi.log
This issue appears the same as a recent post

Dear FSL experts,
I am running freesurfer-Darwin-lion-stable-pub-v5.3.0 on MAC 10.10.5.
Could you please help me with this error message? I think it relates to the
library, this is what it states in talairach_avi.log.
But I am unsure how to solve this issue.
Any help is greatly appreciated,
Than
mri_convert -iks 1 --conform ga_2010.nii 001.mgz
will create an image where the z direction is 1mm. but the orientation
will still be wrong, since it was missing from the header (or
incorrect). orient_mri can be used to rotate it, but one cannot know
whether left or right is correct.

The images are: 0.5 x 0.5 x 1.0
Can mri_convert fix it or should I edit the Nifti header?

PPJ,
Hi,
mri_info /space/incoming/ga_2010.nii
shows that the image is 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.5. but when viewing in freeview
or tkmedit, the brain seems 'squashed', as if there is a slice gap. do
you know the details of how this was acquired?
