The attached recon-all log is empty. What is your recon-all command line?
It sounds like you have both FS 7.1.1 and FS 7.4.1 installed on your system.
The correct Freesurfer environment needs to be sourced before running recon-all

I was attempting to test out the beta version of 8.0.0 and I recognize that
this is on-going development. I installed it in a Singularity image running
Ubuntu 22.04. Getting recon-all to run at all requires setting an environmental
