Hello. 24.01.2014, 03:05, "Eric Auer" :Hi! I do not use EMM386 (JEMMX has been loaded with NOEMS option). The NOEMS option just means "do not reserve 64 kB EMS 3 pageframe area so more UMB space is free". You can still use EMS4 calls (which need no page frame). Also, importantly, JEMMEXalways uses

The NOEMS option just means "do not reserve 64 kB EMS 3 page
frame area so more UMB space is free". You can still use EMS
4 calls (which need no page frame). Also, importantly, JEMMEX
always uses protected mode, NOEMS option or

Rugxulo, is that something that has happened before?
I am not sure but this sounds vaguely familiar. The

This can also depend on whether you run EMM386-style drivers or not.
If yes, those can show error messages. If no, either the kernel will
show error messages o

FWIW, I've had computers where MS HIMEM.SYS + EMM386.EXE worked and one or more
of the FreeDOS ones (JEMM, HIMEMX) crashed, and vice versa. On the majority of
systems I think they all work OK, but it really depends on the hardware.

- rugxulo@Hello. I use PXELINUX 4.05 20130513. It works fine with MS-DOS (Win98) with MS HIMEM, but fails with FreeDOS / any XMM. That is why I don't point to PXE loader's problem.I can give it a try with latest pxelinux or try iPXE to be burned into ROM. 14.01.2014, 03:15, "Rugxulo" :Hi,On Mon, Ja

Hello. I've faced a problem with running any (XMGR, JEMMEX, HIMEMX) XMM on AMD Opteron 6274 (have tried Supermicro H8DGU and Asus KGPME-D16). -- XMGR just hangs a system (xmgr-hangs.png). -- HIMEMX lead to reboot the system if I've specify DOS=high[,umb] otherwise I've got unusable DOS/32A apps s
