Hi, :-)
First of all, I wish to apologise you for the
(about 3-4 days) delayed responce. Unfortunately, due to a computer crash
(because of my error) I had to restore my backups, so I was off-line for a
while. Also I 've lost the original text to copy here. Sorry!!! :-(
To the point now:

You forgot the last "sorry" for your crappy HTML mail. Please turn that
off for the next time!

Hi Edward. I hope you don't mind, but I posted your info as a web page
on www.freedos.org
(http://www.freedos.org/freedos/news/newsitem/173.html). I thought it
might be helpful to other new users to FreeDOS.

I was able to install FreeDOS with the support of Mark

I think that his instruction file makes it fairly
clear how to install. (I will probably always be a
complete novice in all things pertaining to
computers.)
The following are supplemental notes I made as Mark
helped me. (It is long-

Hi Ed:
You can take a look at http://odin.fdos.org/dual/, fdinst091.pdf
for detailed directions on how to do this using Linux tools
to repartition a WindowsXP disk and add a DOS boot option. This
can be done for FreeDOS or MSDOS.
Let me know if you have any questions about this.

Windows XP already simulates Windows, similar to how Rosetta simulates PPC. So, I believe the best option is to utilize Windows XP's own MSDOS subsystems. This way, you are guarenteed to have a working system.

Hi!
If the partition of WinXP has FAT32 file system THEN you can install it
via boot menu! Would this be a choice?
You cannot run DOS parallel to Windows. You can only "simulate" or
"emulate" it in Windows. Via QEMU for example.

It is possible to run DOS on one of the cores. You will need VMware Workstation. But I am not sure if QEMU supports it as well. I personally use QEMU with FreeDOS on top of my Ubuntu Linux computer. And, Windows XP comes with a DOS subsystem to work on top of it, so try that first. If that has a pr
I currently use a very old computer system, that has
Windows 98 and DOS emulator, as a way to use DOS to
drive a table-top milling machine.
I would like to use Free Dos on a new lap top (Windows
XL) for when the time comes that old computer may die.
But I have absolutely no idea how to do this.
