Yup, I finally figured that out (from reading the "kc" docs).
After trying for a couple hours,
I like the open source program GAG for this. It doesn't require a partition
and I find it MUCH easier to set up and configure than GRUB. It isn't
quite as pretty, but you only see it for a few seconds.

The gradient looks nice - I've put it up on the web site.

Cool. Talking about the webring, it is not THAT big,
is it? We could ask all pages in the ring to move to
another service (or even ours) with cleaner HTML ;-).
Interesting that some people disliked the marble...

I want it to be a control key.
I'm pretty sure that keyb can do that, but I'm still reading
through all of
NTFS4DOS has one problem...it isn'T a TSR you can start it at
commandline or autoexec.bat and it will start a second layer of
command.com. This will eat memory of 640k but should work with most
programs.

XOSL is very good, has a very nice GUI... the only problem is, that it
must have a FAT16/32 partition, BUT...
after some years I decided to create an extra small partition for boot
managers. It is saver ;-)

The next problem, I get an error when writing to FDCONFIG.SYS, even if FDOS
not running?
I tried to copy some part from the CONFIG.SYS from the NTFS4DOS Floppy to

I have installed FDOS on disk and can use in the menu only selection 3
(HIMEM XMS) or 4 (no drivers at all). With the two others it will tell me,
it cannot find command.com.
Can anyone tell me, how to use NTFS4DOS, so it's loaded automatically when
FDOS starts.
Thanks in advance!

A lot of the errors you mention actually come from the webring nav
stuff, which I have no control over. If you want to validate, you
need to omit the webring stuff:

Hi Jim,
according to validator.w3.org, the new design is more like
HTML 4.01 than like XHTML. That is okay for me, but then
the header should not refer to XHTML... ;-).
Other errors:
- there is no table "bordercolor" attribute
- XHTML probably wants x="y" syntax for attributes, not x=y?
- do

You can do this with any sufficiently-capable boot manager. I used to
use V Communications' "System Commander", once upon a time. Don't
know if it's still available. Used to be fairly cheap: about $40
(US). There are probably lots of other commercial utilities you can
find at a Best Buy or simi

Yes it has. but there is a patch for 98 like boot.

Thanks to all of the Arachne users (especially Udo!) and other web
testers who helped with the new FreeDOS web design. The new design
doesn't differ all that much from the old one, but has a cleaner look.
More importantly, the new design looks much better under Arachne

Windows ME, millennium, was marketed as a windows 2000 home edition that was
rushed out to market to replace win9x, Imho,
a badly hacked up 98se codebase, like was an early drawing board idea for XP?
same year later XP was released superseding it.
I think WinME uses msdos as it boot up OS, but
