Are there any special settings needed to operate a 11n adapter in 11a mode ?
e.g. dev.ath.0.rxantenna
I've managed to get it into 11a mode, but for some reason more that 80% of all
big packets are dropped, small packets works fine.

I just brought a TP-Link N600 Wireless Dual Band USB Adpater (model
TL-WDN3200) and its correctly recognized in FreeBSD as a ranlink.
Dmesg shows:
