I can confirm that kern.cam.da.disable_wp_detection=1 allows me to mount the
drive.

That MODE SENSE command is likely a part of probing the device for being
read-only. kern.cam.da.disable_wp_detection=1 should disable it if needed.
But as I see CAM should ignore errors of that comm
