I've seen posts about this issue on current@, but without any solution.
Maybe my case will help to shed some light on this one.

Can you post a fragment of dmesg output? I am interested whether you
attach it to the ohci or uhci controller.

Another reason to have permanent WITHOUT_GNOMEVFS=yes in /etc/make.conf ;-)

This may be related to the driver. I am using stock ubsa (with patches
for Option GTMAX) without problems.
One thing that may make things easier, can you change
"link enable pap" to "link enable pap chap" ?

My ntpd stopped synchronizing clock sometime ago (default ntp.conf).
To debug the problem I've tried running ntpdate and got strange results:

Hello,
I use FreeBSD STABLE on Acer Aspire 1525, with VIA K8M400 chipset and
VIA1612A on-motherboard sound card.
I've beet tracing STABLE from some time ago, and at some point of 5.X
series my sound started to be distorted (clicks, lags, metallic sounds)
in a random manner, with distortions
for such,
but found nothing).
Best regards,

Hi,
I tried to build today's STABLE on 6.0-BETA2 FreeBSD 6.0-BETA2 #1: Wed Aug 3
Kernel config differs from GENERIC just by atapicam device.

hing I noticed with the ata code on 6.x.
Put in a CF to your PCMCIA to CF adaptor and try to boot your laptop.
The kernel will immidiately core dump. This never happened on 5.x.

There was a change in DHCP between FreeBSD 5.x and 6.
I noticed the same behaviour with a couple of hw broadband routers.
AFAIR this was also reported back to the list, still no fix was
provided.

Marcin.

kbdcontrol -k /dev/kbd0 didn't help much...
A whole com/at/usb keyboard, serial/vga console
plus "dual console" feature and -h flags are
getting a bit messy to me... Although much better
than ol' Solaris /etc/system entry.

I guess the problem is that some utility attempts do use DNS
quite early, like sendmail(1). Most probably,
you messed up your /etc/hosts file, if not - you
may use "DontProbeInterfaces" sendmail option.

I am sure this is my kern/21085.
