winbindd won't start

Last night I upgraded Samba on my FBSD 6.1 machine. Samba was working fine before the upgrade. Since the upgrade, I can not get winbindd to run. It writes this to the winbindd log before dying: [2006/09/24 11:17:30, 1] nsswitch/winbindd.c:main(953) winbindd version 3.0.23c started. Copyright
