has there been any work that anyone knows of to make
use of the remote? I used to have a linux site
bookmarked.. since I don't seem to have it anymore
can someone get back to me with a few links.. if
freebsd doesn't have a remote maybe I'll port on from
linux?

FWIW, I use the OSS Audigy Beta driver in FreeBSD, and I have seen error
messages about buffer overruns, but never so much as had to run
"soundoff/soundon" except at initial boot up. I've never had the driver
lock up my system or cause a kernel panic, and it sounds as good as my
sound blaster liv
