I believe it's supported with geom_raid . I had a similar b1xx card in a hp
dl165 and using graid was the only solution to setup raid 1 or 1+0. it's a
hardware accelerated software raid , not a true smart array controller.

to spit out SMART statistics for ATA disks. Specifically, this would be
those using the standard ata(4) layer (including ataahci.ko and
similar), but not ahci(4) (ahci.ko), which uses ATA/CAM.

IMO, A much better option to run on a weekly basis is to use a RAID
controller with "verify" feature (eg. 3ware) or use ZFS "scrub" mode.
