I cvsuped to 4.3-STABLE a few days ago, and am in the process of
making the kde2 port(s). Quite a few of the programs fail as follows:
$ kword
/usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: /usr/local/lib/libksycoca.so.4: Undefined symbol
"comment__C18KDEDesktopMimeTypeRC7QStringb"
$ nm /usr/local/lib/lib

I am having an issue
with KDE2 that I am wondering if anyone else has noticed.
When I rearange the
icons and the logout when I log back in the icons are back in the original
locations. Everything else such as background and newly created icons are
there and saved but there locations

I've also noticed this problem, but it only seems to occur for me if I
not have been clear enough : the latest KDE2 port does indeed comprise
GIF support (it comes through qt22), so Konqueror DOES display gif images.
(I do not know if javascript works or not - I do not -yet- care for java)

Hello,
first, let me congratulate all involved in 4.2, which seems to be a great
release. furthermore, KDE2 is just a great X environment (with seemingly
working apps)
then, some rants before the release gets cut :

All,
Trying to compile KDE 4.1 on a somewhat recent 4.1-STABLE yields some
strange results. All appears to be going well, until it begins
compiling the file mcopidl.cc. The precise line is
c++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../.. -I,,.,,.dcop -I../../kdecore
-I../../kdeui -I../../kssl -I/usr
