Maybe it would be good to merge this fix into RELENG_9_1 and distribute a fix
via freebsd-update what do you think?

Hi list,
since we activated 10gbe on ixgbe cards + jumbo frames(9k) on 9.0 and now on
9.1 we recognize that after a random period of time, sometimes a week,
sometimes only a day, the

Hi list,
can somebody fix the bug that the device ixN is missing when the cable mainly
the SFP+ module isn't inserted during boot?!
Today I connected a new server to our storage system which has 3 ixgbe cards so
6 ports and is freebsd 9 based.
Then I have noticed that the link is missing and the
A common way to debug is to isolate the affected systemcalls, by using
tools like ktrace or strace.
Strace can also record a timestamp, you can see how long it takes to
complete a specific systemcall
# strace -r -f
Do a single login and then examine the results.
happy debugging.

I installed in safemode and then build custom kernel.
I took the PAE as example removed the PAE option, added acpi and SMP , compiled
and installed. This works great. Booting GENERIC will fail on my supermicro
too. Hang at the ICH5 ata controller with timeouts.

you don't need to use rules like this "allow from me to any" there are "in"
and "out" filters. use them
