I've seen this on both mmcsd and mmccam. I haven't tested on HEAD, but
have no reason to expect a difference, given there haven't been many
changes that have not been MFC'd back to stable/12 in
.
And, yes, I am generally considered the keeper of all things powerpc,
and a strong advocate of such. I really should get my PowerMac G4, and
PowerBooks (yes, plural) up to latest head, but have little time, so it
becomes lower priority until needed.

So, I recently put a new SATA controller into my PII server and added a
sata hard drive to it. Whenever I try to copy things over network to it in

output floods with disk errors that say "kernel:

Anyone else seen this? Any hints on how I might help debug the

After upgrading to STABLE a few days ago, several odd problems developed:

I use 5.3 on an Aptiva K6/350 and I used to have the exact same problem.
try re-compiling your kernel with the following optimizations in /etc/make.conf:
CPUTYPE=k6
CFLAGS= -O -pipe
COPTFLAGS= -O -pipe

Hiya. I have to have bpf compiled into my kernel b/c our network uses
dhcp. Is there any way to reduce the security consequences of having
bpf compiled in while still maintaining dhcp connectivity?
Thanks :)

to say. The parity error reporting can be disabled if necessary.
I'll look into adding a device flag for that in the near future.
