To Un
est as binutils cannot handle AIX's
XCOFF32/64 object files. On the AIX platform, GCC has to use IBM
supplied ar, ld, as etc.
You'd be better off just using GCC on AIX and using NFS to make the
files available to both boxes... I use rsh if I want to start gcc on the
AIX box fr
I have had good results with the following Linux JVM under FreeBSD:
java version "1.3.0rc1"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.0rc1-b17)
Classic VM (build 1.3.0rc1-b17, green threads, nojit)
This is the Sun JVM. JBuilder 4 runs great on it, for weeks at a time
to generate faulty checksums and some other
quirks To put it simply, stable kernels are only with -O (in my
experience)
(however, I have compiled KLDs with -O2 with no ill effect)

er printer.
Otherwise, one can opt for EPP or PS/2 mode, which should enable the
small FIFO available in most printer ports - this should slash the
number of IRQs.

Is there anyone out there who knows enough about FreeBSD to be able to
make the plex86 project run on FreeBSD?
Since we don't have a true native VMWare, wouldn't it be good if we're
supported by this effort instead?

I have never experienced any problems with running UP OS's on a SMP mobo
with either one or 2 CPU's installed.
This is both with Pentium 200 CPUs on a T
n my Compaq notebook) but the font it uses and how it's
configured only gives you an 80 column display - I'm sure it wouldn't be
hard to modify it...

AFAIK, the i810 is only supported under 4.0.1 with FreeBSD 4.1
It's working here :o)
