I just tried to install 6.2 on an IBM Bladecenter without any luck, i did a bit
of "googling" and asked around and it seems that IBM Bladecenter isn't
supported
at allsome have "got it to work" with all kinds of messy
workaroundswhich
frankly arent worth the effort.

I had a similar problem on a few boxes, you should check the mailing list
archives for a recent discussion on
how crappy the realtec nic's are.

In my experience 5.3 is quite good for production and you should not be afraid
to use it instead of 4.X
I have been running a few 5.3 boxes in production for a while without problems
and im planning to replace
the rest of my servers with 5.3
