Ok, I'm just impatient. I let it sit, and it eventually came up.
Would it be possible for the next 9.x release to set hw.memtest.tests="0"
when we discover we're under a hypervisor to avoid doing the tests? (or
default it to 0 in the installer kernel?)?

I have tried to enable audit trails for jails but I can't get it to work,
is there something special I need to do? Nothing shows up in the logs when I do
anything inside a jail.

Is it still broken? I get "jail: unknown parameter: allow.nomount"
when starting a newly created jail. It was supposed to be fixed, but
something might reintroduced it?

Did you tried disabling acpi to check? I had a similar problem, not
with FreeBSD, but with DragonflyBSD.
