Quite well. I even have reasonable results with FastSaved documents.

Office2000. They were certainly on the list of options.

Personal experience here; damn good. It objects to files that have
been saved with the "fast file save" option in WordXXX, but turn that
off and the document is 1/2 th

I don't know what you mean by Office97 since there is a whole host
of file formats encompassed in that phrase. If you're asking if
it reads word files, it does. If you're asking if it reads Excel
