mysql with linuxthreads

I've read alot about FreeBsd 5.x series being so much faster with mysql when it's built with linuxthreads. Is this still true for Freebsd 6.x. If so how do I build mysql with linuxthreads? How do I know what the options are when I build any package for that matter? Thank y
