I've had problems building the ports gnupg-1.4.6_1 and
intltool-0.35.1 using 'portmanager -u', or 'make
install' in the appropriate directories of my ports
tree. I keep encountering the messages(my comments in
[] are not part of the message):

NOT_FOR_ARCHS is _usually_ there for a reason. In this case, it's because
the lang/gcc4* maintainer hasn't devised a

Install the latest version available in FreeBSD Ports, which
is in print/teTeX. If your program still doesn't function properly,
then you're probably have to install a more recent version of
TeX Live

This is not trivial, which is one of the reasons it hasn't been done.
First, try to diagnose your errors with TeTeX. You should probably be
able to get this to work. The errors may have to do with your files, or
the commands you are

It is from one of the ghostscript ports, as you might expect when
using postscript for printing. It probably failed because one of the
libraries was corrupted, or someone up

Firstly, it looks like you are using an old ports tree.
You should update it by downloading a newer tarball or using
csup. Read the pertinent section of the handbook if you
don't know how to do this. This may solve your goffice
build problem. (It's actually goffice, and not abiword, that
is the
The whole point of ports is to provide an already integrated suite of
applications; if you are copying files here-and-there, you are probably doing
something wrong. (Yes, of course a port maintainer occasionally makes a
mistake, and some tweaking is needed, or a port requires some configuration
