The named.conf is used only if you need to set up your owm DNS server and
you do not use someone other then the default.
To resolve external hosts you need to enter the dns server IP in the
/etc/resolv.conf file. It is not resolvE.conf.
Hope this will help you.

I do believe that man pkg_create will give you the correct answer :)

Building packages
If that was the case it would say something like 108%, not -83%.
The other strange value is the used size -2.2G.
I see only 2 options:
- Buffer overflow of the command (not much likely)
- Problem with the data on the disk.
Maybe you should run fsck -fFyv /var

Hi,
You must cvsup your ports tree before you execute the portupgrade. This
way you make your system aware of the need of update.
In your case I asume it would be better to make your main server a cvs
replica of the ports tree and use it for internal synchronization.

Hi,
You may put fsck_y_enable="YES" in /etc/rc.conf file.
The other option is to modify /etc/rc.d/fsck which is not so good
approach.

Hi,
I guess the problem is with your netmask and respectivly the broadcast
adrresses for the jails.
It should be:
inet 10.0.1.2 netmask 0xff00 broadcast 10.0.1.255
inet 10.0.1.3 netmask 0xff00 broadcast 10.0.1.255
inet 10.0.1.4 netmask 0xff00 broadcast 10.0.1.255
Regards,
Ivailo
No, I am right.
Try it yourself and you will see that solves the issue. I have several
jails on different machines and this way the system works without any
error or problem.
Try it and see it :)

I would advise you to take deep look on your kernel configuration file.
I had simmilar problems when upgrading from 3.4 to 4.1 a long time ago.
You are missing some specific issues like default firewall rules or
network compatability.
Hope this will help you.

I propose you to update your ports tree.
What are you searching for is very old and out of date.

Hello List,

I suppose you are downloading some files from ftp to your home.
Is that is the case - then you should check where is your home directory.
I suppose you do it as root, and the root home is /root, which resides on
the / mount.

Hi,
You may correct the script by changing:
if ! [ -a $PHISH ]; then ...
with:
if ! [ -x $PHISH ]; then ...

My error.
Correct syntax shoud be:
if [ ! -x $PHISH ]; then ...
-x checks if file exists (which I hope is your case). And makes source
more clean to read :)

Yes, it's OK :)
But may I suggest you to use this, when upgrading ports:
cd /usr/ports
make fetchindex
/usr/local/sbin/portsdb -u
/usr/local/sbin/pkgdb -Fv
/usr/local/sbin/portupgrade -v -i -a -r -c -C
