Strange problem with Floppy Drive

I have an AMD K6 based system with almost everything on ultra-wide, ultra-fast SCSI. The exceptions are video, sound and floppy disk. The IDE floppy disk works fine if, for example, I boot from it on this machine. Further, I have removed it and tested it on a Windows 2K system, where it work
