Is there a way to make users spool mailbox be in the user dir instead of in
/var/mail/ ?? We are using sendmail w/ local mailer being procmail. As well
as we use Openwebmail for a webmail interface .

Has anyone run into this scenario where a BSD Box (RELENG_5_4) takes down
the whole subnet for only FreeBSD boxes. Here’s the scenario: One of my
web servers goes into a crazy state which kills all traffic on the network
for only FreeBSD boxes. Linux boxes can talk to other linux boxes, but

You are correct, and that's all it probably means. Someone on your ISP
side (and it could be the ISP itself) is using the 192.168 address
space. Our ISP here uses the 172.16 private address space for a bunch
of stuff, including all their internal mail relays.

I have to agree with Bill.
I don't like the "me-too" postings, but in this case, I can't recommend
highly enough dumping that Travan. I've never had one work for more than a
year or so before dying various deaths.

I'm going through the freebsd-update process to move from 7.0 to 7.4. I
followed the handbook, rebooted to GENERIC and followed up with
`freebsd-update install` and got the following output:
# freebsd-update install
Installing updates...rmdir: ///usr/share/man/ja: Directory not empty
rmdir: //
share (mount_smb), then browse to the mount
point via nautilus, copying files is a breeze.
If someone could help me it would be appreciated.

then save and then run

make backups of your current sendmail confi
dependencies like apache w/ ssl, php4 and mysql OR even perhaps IMAP ...is

software from source, when i do make install, I would like to be able
to set the owner and group for the installed files at that time so I
don't have to go searching all over the file system to find what

It's a little confusing, but if you dig far enough in the docs, mail() will
not compile if sendmail doesn't exist (it tests).

case you didn't get it working, the thing that
threw me for a while was putting "gateway_enable=yes" in rc.conf (syntax
might be slightly different).
Its in the MPD readme file, but you don't see that file when installing from
ports. ;)
Don't forget to run some sort
;t be an issue with a 4-6 port
card, but when you use 200gb+ drives on a 12 port card, you end up over the
2TB volume limit and the second volume is slow as molassas...
