Hey there,
Can people confirm some brokenness to me?

Hello,
Your SSH client probably configured for different charset.
1) use "locale" command to check your LC_*.
2) echo $TERM to check terminal type
3) In case of putty check "Window / Translation / Remote charset"
4) In case of unix-based client check "locale" there.

I'm in the process of setting up a HA nginx proxy using carp in
FreeBSD 9.0-RELEASE .
I've got a active/passive setup where both nodes are running an nginx
server listening to carp0 .
If I issue: ifconfig carp0 down on the active node, the passive node
takes over immediately .
But when I for

Hi :)
the KDE 4 desktop does cause issues, since I set up the panel and then
booted with display wizard enabled, on PC-BSD 8.2 64-bit.
The last panel I add often isn't visible and accessible, but the first
panel did work before I restarted with display wizard enabled. I add
several panels, that a

Logs are your friends.
If the lease actually expires and you have to get a new IP (a new lease), then
you could have a temporary disconnect.
But if dhcp server(s) are working correctly the lease should be renewed or
rebound without problems.
