Hey all,
I've seen this addressed in various places, and I can't find a solid
answer.
Is there some way to make a FreeBSD system beep when it's been

% is the prompt. In the FreeBSD docs, the % prompt means the example was
done as root, while the $ prompt means that the example was done as a
normal user.

Welcome to FreeBSD! You certainly can learn about unix type OSs here.
The best place to start is with the Handbook. the URL is

Hello list,
I was wondering if anyone has any insight as to having a remote backup
mail server and the setup of such. I'm currently using sendmail, and I
don't want to change that, so please don't recommend any of the other
servers out there. ;)

Hello,
The % is the "shell prompt.
You could also try BootPart (http://www.winimage.com/bootpart.htm) which
should be able to either repair the nt loader or be able to figure out
what's on which partition and change your boot.ini appropriately. (At
least it used to be able to do that back when I used it)

I don't know if there's a simpler way, but you could try to make the change
from one of the /etc/rc* scripts.

I'm trying to install FreeBSD BETA #6 onto my computer but the burned ISO won't boot.
The boot is stalling just after detecting my CD-RW drive. I'm not sure if it's with
the CD-RW detecting or with mounting the root file system. I also had the same
problem when I CVSUPed my system from 5.2.1

I still cannot boot Windows so I set the BIOS to boot
