I ran freebsd-update to update my 8.1-RELEASE system to 8.3-RELEASE (freebsd-update -r 8.3-RELEASE upgrade). It downloaded a bunch of files, asked me to edit some configuration files, showed me long lists of files that have been changed, added and removed, and then ended with no status or error in
