this issue still exists in BETA-2. imo it really needs to be fixed before the
release of 8.0. if i were to test a new OS and discover that it comes with an
editor which crashes when opening a new term i'd be very frustrated.

oh sorry. i thought this was ee related because there've been some recent
changes in the ee src. if it's awesome's fault i'll try to replace the
installed version from ports with a svn snapshot. maybe the problem's been
fixed already.
cheers.

i'm running xorg-7.4.2 and x11-wm/awesome on HEAD (r195173). when i run ee in
the debugger and open another xterm the debugger says "Program exited
normally.". so it's not a program crash i guess.

hi there,
i'm experiencing this strange `ee` behaviour lately. when i open `ee` in an
xterm and open another xterm `ee` simply exits. if i try to enter commands
which output to sdtout/stderr like `ls` on the xterm window ee was running on
the output is a mess.

Hello,
When I ssh my FreeBSD 4.8 machine and try to use ee(1), I always
notice that Backspace erases the following character, not the previous
one. On the contrary, I've noticed that it does not do that when I
login via console.
So I decided to play with the value of $TERM.

Here is a simple guide. It definitely does not cover everything, but
is enough to get by for most general editing in vi.

hi,
this is not exactly an "idiot's guide to vi", but for a quick look up
of commands it can be useful.

wrong). In the meantime, / is ASCII code 47, you can enter this with ^a or ^o

Hi,
I've reconfigured XF86Config Server 3 times now and I've eliminated
every warning and error except the one I put in the subject line.
Startx still fails for the reason sited and I don't know why. I think
the problem is the video drivers for some reason. I'm using the nv
drivers which are rec

hey all,
thanks for all the tips. problem is system won't let
me run fsck -p, but i was able to mount the partition
where my /usr is, so i was able to edit /ect/fstab and
make the system look in the right places.
