If I recall correctly, that's an out-of-date version of the server
software. I don't see why it would cause this particular symptom, but
perhaps you should try a different server and see

I m currently using freebsd release 4.7
and I want to upgrade it to 4.7 stable.
When i try to cvsup for the source,
I receive an error message "premature EOF from server"
and i couldn't cvsup
