I found a page for the chip set for this machine: http://www.viavpsd.com/product/epia_mini_itx_spec.jsp?motherboardId=21 My reading of: http://www.FreeBSD.org/releases/5.0R/hardware-i386.html ...does not indicate goodness. The OpenBSD story is slightly better; it claims to support ATA.
