Oh, if it is installed.. it might only be installed as
${PREFIX}/lib/libwx_gtk-2.2.so
so you may need to link it to the proper name.
ln -s /usr/local/lib/libwx_gtk-2.2.so /usr/local/lib/libwx_gtk.so
