I recently got a Asus 1201N and installed FreeBSD 8.0 on it. This uses

Hello,
I recently got two of these old machines used. One installed and runs
fine, but the other... I've been working on it for three days now and I
can't get it to boot. I can install just fine from the CD (using 6.1-R),
but upon reboot it goes past

Install normally, don't do anything special. BIOS settings should
be normal.

I would check the BIOS settings, and perhaps turn off any peripherals not
used. You may need to try setting the hyperthreading on or off if your CPU
supports that.

Hi,
I just got a new Tyan S5350 using twin Xeon processors I am told this is now a

Unfortunately when I try to boot FreeBSD 5.4 Release I get the following

Have you tried booting a fixit disk and doing an fsck from there?

Howdy all,
Having probs booting since I had a power surge of sorts.
In normal mode, the machine halts at:
Mounting root from ufs:/dev/ad0s1a
Single user mode, the same occurs.
However if I boot into "safe mode", machine loads fine... although

should start booting from the CD-ROM drive, instead gives me the following
