Hi there,
I poked around a bit, changing several settings and the modules to be
loaded in xorg.conf. It turns out that the error is caused by DRI. I'm
pretty sure I tried this before...
So, disabling DRI by commenting out the module in xorg.conf makes X
behave correctly, I can start and stop it w

Hello:
I've been trying to install freeBSD 5.0.
I tried so many times to run x-windows
but no luck.
Every time I tried to configure XFree86, I got
error like this:
The XFree86 configuration process seems to have
failed. Would you like to try again? Y/N.
As video card I'm using S3 Virge gx2

(de)install, to get smooth fonts in all apps and in all sizes? The system
should be usable for DTP.
TIA
