I have two servers, exact same hardware, exact same version of FreeBSD, in
this case 4.10. When I run pkg_add blah.tbz on one machine, it takes between
2-8 hours, on the other 8-10 minutes. These machines are quad-Intel
2.8Xeons, with 4GB of memory.
Ive done everything from running make world, to
Spoke to soon, it still crashing...

I am looking for a way to VNC or to connect to my FreeBSD laptop,
running Xorg and GNOME. I can ssh into, but I do not have access to
GNOME.
My question is, I know I cannot use VNC because I use Xorg. Does
anyone have any suggestions?

Yet another thing to ask. I have a wide screen laptop where the VBIOS does

I have an old HP NetServer LH Pro that had NetBSD 1.6.1 on it.
The NetServer is a P166, 64MB RAM 2GB SCSI drive(comes up on da0)
Last night I attempted to install FreeBSD 5.1-R. Everything ran smoothly
until I reboot. At the boot loader screen F1: FreeBSD, I hit F1 and it went

unusual symptoms on startx. This is very hard to describe(I'm gonna get a

figure out how to properly disconnect it. In windows I can detach the drive
and the LED on the USB keychain goes off. Can this be accomplished in FBSD
5.1? Or is unmounting and simply removing it safe?
