Hi List, I have freebsd 8.2 installed on a windows host with virtualbox and have xfce4. From sysinstall i was able to enable and move the mouse. But as soon as i do a startx it gets frozen(pointer is visible at center of the screen ) Freebsd# cat /root/xorg.conf.new Section "ServerLayout"

yes. there is an un allocated 50 gb space (deleted a partition using win 7 partition tools) and we created a feebsd slice in the unallocated space while running sysinstall However in the next screen; i guess where it should give us an option to partition the freebsd slice into root,home,swap

yes you are right :-) . it is a 100 mb recovery partition created by windows 7 which can be safely formatted. however is there a way we can we have bsd not to format all partitions ; i have ubuntu on a partition (in which 3g usb modem (my only internet connection) works after some tweaking ) .

Hi, In my case(stuck at bios splash after freebsd install) ,i had to give it to acer support ,as i risked losing warranty if i opened/dismantled my laptop. They have diagnosed harddrive to be faulty(the laptop is hardly 15 days old :-( ). The lappy was running ubuntu and fedora fine. Hope this
