That was the problem in the end. The server had been installed with an incorrect time in the bios, and running an ntpdate messed up all kinds of things. Wiping /usr/src and doing a new cvsup rectified the problem. I hadn't followed up that this was resolved since no one had replied until now. :)

Mouse is started from /etc/rc.conf Sounds like you did not config your mouse during the sysinstall when you installed FBSD from CD. You can execute /stand/sysinstall again, pick post install config, and then config your mouse. It will rebuilt the moused statements in rc.conf for you. -Origi

For the record. The quick fix for Apcupsd 3.10.6 hangup problems was to delete the "apcaccess status" parts out of the scripts in /usr/local/etc/apcupsd/. (commok, onbattery, etc...). Event messages still get "wall"ed and mail still gets sent. Just non of the UPS status information in messages. Th
