py-ldap2 was being odd is because i was building openldap-client and
openldap-sasl-client, it was building against the sasl-client but I only
had the non sasl client installed.

The quick way to build the latest curl on FreeBSD 9.1 is to pass
DISABLE_VULNERABILITIES to the make command. Its probably a good
