I am snagged in graphics/opencv in my massive upgrade of ports, and see error
messages in the log file indicating errors in the C code. I also see there is
a newer version of openCV out.

I've checked and there are no official endorsements of Tcl/Tk license

why is cups-client required for dns/unbound ?
It probably comes from dependencies of dns/ldns if you compile it with
DOCS option on which is the default. This should turn it off in
/etc/make.conf:
ldns_UNSET=DOCS

It looks like download2.berlios.de consistently refuses connection.
download.berlios.de still works fine. But it seems that the way fetch works
download2 gets picked first and then it is retried forever in such a situation
if
-a flag is used.
Maybe download2 should eb dropped from MASTER_SITE_BE

I'm confused about tweaking a Makefile which is normally generated initially
using ./configure.
If one needs to define variables which affect the make process,
and a Makefile is generated initially using ./configure,
is the right thing to do simply to insert the define directly into the
Makefile,
