the above picture is my network topology. as you see, i have four end point
systems in the same range ip. three of them (c1, c3, c4) are the member of
vlan1 and the other one (c2) is the member of vlan2. these three systems
should ping each other and should not

How about ray (or stefan, or someone :) does up a bit of a summary as
to how zrouter uses the floatphy and other stuff in the configuration
hints to represent all of this?
Would we be better off changing the miibus code to work with the
notion of non-phy devices? Would that help a bit?

We have a pair of physical FreeBSD systems configured as routers
designed to operate in an active/standby CARP configuration. Everything
used to work fine, but since an upgrade to 8.2-STABLE on December 29th
the two routers don't speak BGP to each other anymore. They both
function fine individually
