Two questions ...
1. Is 8.x any better at this?
2. Any idea where the 'gross patch' is?

Quagga on all of my servers, and got it configured. Works *great* on my
7.x servers, but, using the same config (and port), my 6-STABLE boxes all
generate the same error when I try and start up zebra:
