The mpd log shows that you are requiring the peer to authenticate
but the peer doesn't want to. That's why LCP is failing to converge.
Try adding "set link disable chap" to mpd.conf.

Server works, I can connect to it from M$Win
(I guess poptop package)
it configured to allow mpe 40 and mpe 128, MSChapV2
