Hi,
I've looked high and low and the only USB ISDN TA's I've found that work under
BSD are the 3Com ISDN Pro TA's. All the others I've tried are software TA's
and don't work.
Could someone please give me advice on what will work under BSD, I've run out
of ideas completely.
Thanks,
Brad

A priori, you can't. Looking in the Macintosh section will usually
assure you of getting something that is not Windows-specific, although
this is not a sufficient condition.

Take your notebook to the USB-dealer :-) and ask if you can connect the
thingie to test it.

How do I find out before I go and buy a usb modem that its going to be
detected as a umodem or a ugen device. I assume when its detected as a ugen
then the modem is some type of usb winmodem and its not going to work under
bsd. Are usb modems with CAPI support always winmodems?
Thanks

You can't. FreeBSD supports any USB modem that (1) claims in the USB
control protocol to be a modem and (2) doesn't require a firmware
download to make it work. It does not look for specific product
identifiers.
