, all works perfectly, if I simply assign the intended ip address
to the wlan0 device.
Any input on this?

ound that I am actually missing the required wlan_xauth.ko
wlan_xauth.symbols entries in /boot/kernel so I must have a messy
install of the 8.2-STABLE kernel.
I am considering this issue resolved, since I can fully utilize the
wlan0 mechanism now.
Thanks again.

ors. In fact the system only
hangs on the incident user space, because you can still login and
utilize ssh sessions, as well as anything else that is running.
I use the terms "system hang" because acpi requests from the power
switch are ignored, due to the system not being "ready"

not possible at layer 2 without an end-point.
What is the real answer, and where should I look for further correct
information about how to resolve this issue? (Create larger bandwidth
backbone with smaller links summed together with some load balancing
facility on freebsd)
I thought that the "inline" switch was specific to C++ and C and not
gcc, hence the standard for the language says to add the inline
parameter to explicitly produce optimized code. Unless gcc is not
standard, I don't see why the compiler would automatically optimize the
coded function to "inline."
, on
6.3-Stable.
Does anyone know if the vlan emplimentation on Freebsd allows for
trunking or, at the least, multiple vlans per physical device?

Sorry for my late entry into this interesting subject, however, what
exactly was the original post displaying? I have 6.3-Stable running,
and I don't even have the first command listed as "setfib", on my
system.
What did the setfib -l command do, so that you were able to see two
distinctly differ
Sorry to respond off-topic, however, why would you need Packet Filter,
if you were using ipfw and dummynet?
